I am running for the Manhattan Beach City Council.
I was previously on the City Council in 2011. I supported environmental policies: eliminating single use utensils, straws, and bags, banning smoking citywide; and was a founding member of the Clean Power Alliance providing the City and residents with high levels of renewable power. I also led infrastructure efforts such as the Roundhouse Aquarium, the Manhattan Beach Library, and the Skate Park.
All of that was a team effort, requiring that the Council work together and listen to the community. And our team got lots done for our city. I’m running again to help build a council that seeks consensus with each other and with the community. This isn’t about politics; it’s about a civil society moving forward together. We need a council who collaborates with other local leaders to keep us all safe at home, in public and in our schools. I’ll use my years of experience and relationships to make common sense decisions for the common good. If elected, I’ll represent all citizens, whether you vote for me or not. I’d be honored to earn your vote. Thank You, Amy Howorth |
